Plastic Pallet shift just around the corner!

Even though timber still dominates the market with over 90% of the market share there is signs of a possible shift. Plastic pallets are becoming more durable and cost effective with a large amount of businesses gaining increasing interest. The benefits of plastics compared to timber come down to their light weight, low maintenance cost and the ability to make multiple trips. However timber still has a strength advantage not to mention they can easily be reconditioned saving massively on cost. Companies such as RM2 seek to tilt the market in plastics favour and are even opening a UK based manufacturing facility which could seriously effect timber sales. It's plain to see that currently timber pallets are the market choice but its also clear that plastics will have a huge part to play in the near future.
